How it works:

Arrive before 8:30 and register and prepare with proper gear for the FREE guided on-track session to be taken place at 10:00 am. Depending on the number of participants, we may separate into multiple groups. You will be asked to sign a waiver and pass your bike through tech inspection. All normal trackday safety equipment and rules apply. You will be required to attend a safety and introduction meeting prior to going on the track.

All skill levels (including first-time track riders) are welcome!

If you want to stay for the rest of the day:

After the free session, return to registration for a brief recap and decide if you want to ride the rest of the day. If you wish to ride, you will be asked to pay the normal special registration price starting at $119. After payment, you will be issued a participant badge which will be valid for the rest of the day.

Glen's Impressions of Dominion Raceway

DR to me is a fun opportunity as most tracks are. The surface is smooth and layout has an infield section that has a really nice flow. It leads to the back top switchback section that at a brisk pace left me smiling wanting much more repetition. The left following gets tricky due to a small inception additional left upon exit, then a right flick which heads down toward the bridge. The bridge turn becomes clear the closer you are, so there is natural caution in the approach. Down the long straight I felt something of a step down as in downward levels of a sensation. Turn one is much slower with straightaway speed shedding down to positively able to negotiate a left hand side line even upon the exit heading toward two. Turn two has a very late left side exit for the proper set up of three being a right. Four happens to be my fav, it being flat, long and late exit right which not only challenges, but once mastered the reward is cool and high. The DR circuit has a few areas where street wise caution should be exercised, and may not attract specific riders looking toward racing or the like. For this TPM intends to allow those wanting to ride briskly, yet hold margins of error and caution that of a street rider would see fit. With respect to our community and the riders who participate, we shall create visual cues and show proper bike placement. We will extend our knowledge in class and provide lead follow exercises finding balance in a ride that will be exciting and rewarding.

TPM at Dominion Raceway. Another opportunity awaits to enjoy the ride with emphasis on safety and control. I've been told the Kawasaki ZX10 I ride is too fast for them by many good riders I've encountered. I must say the ZX10 is an incredible motorcycle and with all my years and laps riding, the moment I surrender and loose respect for myself and the machine is the moment I myself risk all. It's not so much any rider with a little experience can't ride a ZX10, but more so the ability of ones self to command control over the situation. Can you ride a ZX10 or DR? Absolutely. Can you enjoy? 100%. Can you control yourself? Know we are your guide and that you create and are the final decision. Make it a good one no matter where you ride, and realize without risk there is no growth. Be smart. Leave your ego and come enjoy.
